Northern Maid

May the North wind carry to me a maid,

with a visage radiant as sunshine,

and hair that flows in a golden cascade,

to be forever mine.

Let her be like the morning dew,

pure and fresh as a new day,

with a heart steadfast and true,

and a spirit bright as a sun’s ray.

May her laughter ring like a song,

filling my heart with endless delight,

may her kindness bloom lifelong,

like a flower that never fades from sight.

with a rainbow as her reflection

and a shadow made of moonlight

let her know of my affection

as we go together into the night.

Yes, may the North wind bring her to me,

and under the starry sky, we’ll sway,

with her by my side, forever free,

our love will never wither away.
