Echoes: age 16

Echoes of thoughts once thought now lost.

Echoes of people once known, now forgotten.

Voices of thoughts and people

that I so wish to forget,

repeating and repeating themselves in my mind.

Echoes of voices come to torment and to tease.

Some beyond recognition.

Others in such clarity,

they are blinding, in this insanity,

this frustration of never-ending agony.

Voices in my mind screaming and whispering.

I strain my ears for understanding

until I am deaf and still I hear them

in their pleas to be heard

now in less understanding than ever before.

Again and again, they repeat themselves…

echoes of thoughts once thought now lost.

Echoes of people once known, now forgotten,

repeating and repeating themselves in my mind.
