Oh, Babylon, a city of old,
With stories of grandeur, to be told,
To a child, I speak of ancient days,
When mighty empires held their sway.
In quantity and quality, they reigned,
Their legacies, in history, remained,
So, little one, remember well,
The lessons that these stories tell.
In Babylon’s ancient, storied past,
Lessons of power, they still hold fast,
A city of grandeur, so rich and bold,
But in its stories, wisdom unfolds.
A lesson in pride, a tower so high,
Babylon reached for the endless sky,
But in its ambition, it met its fall,
A reminder for us, both great and small.
The tale of Babylon, in the Bible’s grace,
Teaches us of vanity’s fleeting chase,
For in the end, it crumbled away,
A warning for us, in the world today.
Let not your heart be filled with greed,
For material wealth is not what we need,
Babylon’s riches turned to dust and sand,
A lesson to heed in every land.
So, little one, as you grow and learn,
Remember the stories, let them discern,
That true strength lies in humility’s way,
In kindness and love, let your heart sway.
In the lessons of Babylon, so old,
Find wisdom and grace, let your story unfold,
For in the pages of history’s scroll,
Are treasures of truth, for every soul.
