Unbroken Bonds
When children turn away the heart may ache.
A mother’s love feels fragile, yet won’t break.
Through storms of words, through fire and dissent,
Her love remains, unyielding, even spent.
I care for all—this world’s deep-seated pain,
For justice–truth, where hate should not remain.
I care for children, be they near or far,
Their laughter–precious, bright as any star.
But caring, too, demands a steady hand,
To face the truths that harden this soft land.
A choice to guide with wisdom, not disdain,
Through love, through loss, through joy I strain.
For even when rejection shadows days,
A mother’s heart finds gentle, steadfast ways.
To guide with open arms, with truth’s embrace,
To love unmasked, and cherish every face.
Let them dissent; let anger take its course,
But love’s a river flowing from God’s source.
In time, may hearts reflect, and come to see,
The unbroken bond of love’s eternity.
