Childhood Friends

We’d laugh in sadness, with joy cry,

My friend, with creative grace,

You brought a smile to my face,

ever in darkness, love in your style,

even in shadows under the sky.

Memories cherished, through lows,

Even as time imposed its woes.

you made me smile for a while.

In my heart, you still thrive,

We’d share joy, we’d share tears,

Under closed skies, We’d share fears,

A relation real, raw, not a sham,

In my mind, ever alive,

A bond so real, devoid of guile,

A friend who loved, with style.

A friend who loved, just as I am.

Who knows the turn of mind, in life

With a heavy heart, I must confess,

Time has caused our paths to digress,

Memories I hold close, never letting go,

Who knows, the cause of strife,

Yet, in minds, a world, a secret known,

A friendship’s seed, once deeply sown.

absent of presence, we continue to grow.
