A Church United

By Salie Davis

One God, one church, His love we all embrace,
In quiet faith, we find our resting place.
A humble heart, open to the divine,
No need for pride to keep our hearts apart,
For God unites us in each loving heart.

The puzzle of belief, a vast expanse,
We find our peace in God’s loving romance.
In whispered prayers, our souls begin to shine.
In truth, we gather, seeking to believe,
In every heart, the same light we receive.

In a world of many paths, we find our way,
Through woods of faith, we journey day by day.
Agree to disagree, yet side by side,
One God, one church, His love our guiding star,
Yet in diversity, we truly are.

Strength and wisdom to us, He does bestow,
For those who in faith’s currents boldly flow,
In God’s embrace, our differences subside.
Delighting in the one who reigns on high,
In the Lord, our hearts and hopes shall lie.

In Jesus, the Savior, we find our way,
Guiding us through the night to a glorious day,
We seek His forgiveness, humble in our plea,
God’s grand plan intertwined with every choice,
His sovereign hand, our souls shall rejoice.

With bowed heads, we pray for His guiding hand,
As we step forth with purpose, take a stand,
And walk in grace, His wondrous light to see.
To live and please the Spirit deep within,
Rest in His presence, where we all begin.
