Support Freedom of Thought

I welcome thoughts, every side,

Though I may not agree,

Respect is my unwavering guide,

I expect nothing less in being free.

In open conversations, I reside,

differing opinions, side by side,

Respectful, I strive to be,

in understanding, embrace diversity.

My daughter, with her tender heart,

Cautioning me, her words sincere,

“Separate your worlds apart,

To safeguard what you hold dear.”

She fears the consequence, you see,

Of losing my status, or losing my employ,

But I ask, why should we let it be,

That our voices we must destroy?

Why do we let our souls retreat,

In the face of differing views?

freedom of thought does not accept defeat,

We must engage in open, honest cues!

I’m flawed, imperfect, I know,

my weakness, I display with pride,

For they shape the person I bestow,

With nothing left for me to hide.

In freedom, cast away our fear,

for Freedom, let our opinions resound,

Freedom is dialogue, open, clear,

In harmony, free, our voices found!
