News Poetry (Sorority Guy)

In a sorority house, a dispute has arisen,

As boundaries are questioned, tensions imprison,

A trans woman granted permission to dwell,

The sisters, enraged, their safe space fell.

Seven sisters filed a lawsuit’s decree,

Seeking void membership, damages to be,

Artemis Langford, at the center of the storm,

A conflict of identities, and norms to transform.

Sorority sisters, united and strong,

Have filed a lawsuit, against a wrong,

A trans woman granted permission to dwell,

In their safe space, a sorority shell.

Seven members of Kappa Kappa Gamma,

Call on a judge, to declare a phantom,

Membership void and award damages sought,

As they argue, their safe space is now fraught.

The sorority house, a female retreat,

A sanctuary of sisterhood’s heartbeat,

Concerns were raised, shared bathrooms, at stake,

No locks to provide solace, fears awake.

The trans woman, tall and proud,

Visibly aroused, in the presence of a crowd,

Uncomfortable and in constant fear,

The sorority members, shed many a tear.

The lawsuit claimed, “An adult male’s plea,

Does not make a woman, as some would decree,

Identity and behavior, they should not align,

By stereotypical notions, we must define.”

Artemis Langford, 260 pounds and six foot two,

Soon to be a resident, spent time with the crew,

Aroused, by the girls, the discomfort was felt,

In the presence of Artemis, unease was dealt.

The lawsuit states a man cannot claim even in youth,

To be a woman, without acknowledging the truth,

Of his biology, and gender clearly outlined,

A female space, now compromised and maligned.

One member pleads, to preserve this female space,

Free from men, and their uncomfortable embrace,

Concerns raised about communal facilities,

Where locks are absent, and safety is a liability.

Their safe space was invaded and disturbed,

By a trans woman, whose rights over theirs are heard,

At what cost, to these young sisters fair,

Who only seek, a space free from despair.

A safe space shattered, trust in disarray,

Where fear overshadows sisterhood’s play,

Shared spaces, vulnerability laid bare,

The sisters yearn for privacy, and respite to share.

The lawsuit alleges, a betrayal in sight,

Of Kappa Kappa Gamma’s mission, to fight,

For women’s rights, and female space,

Now lost in a trans woman’s chase.

So the battle rages on, for safe spaces to claim,

For women to live, and thrive without shame,

A balance to strike, in a world full of strife,

To ensure all voices are heard, in the fight for life
