Tourist in America

Around the world, tourists seek where wonders bloom, insights complex and bright.
Dreams soar high, to travel is to dispel the gloom, flying through day and night.
Have you been to the land of strife and grace, where beauty meets life?
Turmoil shares the same space as wonder coexists with the threat of a knife.
The United States of America is vast and ever-diverse,
Tumultious yet nature and culture deeply immerse.
From mountains that pierce the endless sky, and waterfalls wide.
In nature, restless dreams lie in the valleys deep, where the heart resides.
In West Virginia’s hollers deep and wide, you’ll find nature’s breath.
Nature’s heart beats where shadows hide, even under the threat of death.
Peaks touch the heavens, whispering peace… like the rioter’s fire, colors ignite.
In breathtaking vistas, where troubles cease, just don’t go out at night.
California blooms in spring’s bright flame, Maine’s rugged coast, wild and grand,
A vivid display, of nature untamed. Ignore the tents of the homeless across the land.
Though gunfire may haunt the night, it’s true, that the flowers also explode in a hue of delights,
contrasted by the skies so blue as the land awakens to sudden street fights.
Though fear may rise and shadows spread, and anxiety lingers when you must hide,
let not fear cloud the path ahead, safety and hope can still be found inside.
The police and the hospital are sometimes near, let not fear cloud the beauty you see,
In every assault, let courage steer and remember the rush of adrenaline is free.

From sea to sea, a land so bold, fear not the unknown and instead embrace
hearts still warm in the murdering hands of gang members that await in every place.
In every face, in every smile, let a little common sense you’ll find,
hospitality can be found after a while if you pay security the servants might be kind.
So travel, dear friend, with courage bright, every step across this varied land,
Let your wallet be your guide, if not stolen, you’ll have a chance to understand,
in this land where dreams and fears entwine, with open arms and an open eye,
you may discover the new America and you may find a little beauty if you don’t die.
