The Raven and the Dove: age 18

When birds of a different feather

chose to fly together

it is not wrong or right.

Things are not black and white

between you and me

our love was meant to be.

We will fly together

in good and bad weather

In the shining daylight

or the darkest of night

I will help you see

our love was meant to be

my desire is to be strong

with a heart of song

and a soul alight

I fancy a flight

on the wings of a raven and dove

with a mind engraved in love.

This song is greater than my human heart

and all the reasons we should stay apart,

The fear and want and ache,

but for now, there is too much at stake.

Through the trials of our lifetime,

Days without reason or rhyme,

Through whatever may be

Until we reach Tranquillity.
