How are we so Blind 2023 by Seraphia age 15

Ever since the start, ever since they’ve seen light.

There’s a pattern that is clear, that humans seem to endear

They can’t see when a roach is in front of them,

they are deceived if you can distract them with a mirror.

They are blind when they don’t want eyes

and they don’t think when they don’t want to lose their mind.

But they’ve lost their mind.

They see in black and white only left and right,

they see in the colors they want to see,

they don’t see people just things they can fight,

oh how are we this blind, we can’t even think right.

Oh, how are we so blind how did it get this way.

After years of work and fighting for what’s right

on both sides of black and white

then we’re tearing it down just so we can get

what we think is right.

People take the rainbow and say they own it,

people call you names based on your skin

and people use what they’ve built to their advantage,

just so they do not see that the puppet masters

are playing to their so-called disadvantage.

We act like children we just do and never learn

and that is what we grabbed in our brains

but what if we do then we learn,

then maybe we could find harmony

in a country meant for the world.

Oh how are we so blind that we torture our own kind

and how are we so blind that we can’t see when they cry

and how are we so blind that we try to color others’ eyes

and how are we so blind that we can’t see when we are being fed a line.

Oh how are we so blind that we can’t see light.

And how are we this blind that we can’t think right?

How are we so blind that we can’t even see the shadows in the daytime.

How are we this blind.

How are we so blind.

Do you know yet how we are so blind.
