Through the lens of autism, a call for empathy and grace,
to see beyond the surface and in that shared connection,
the responsibility I bear, you bear, for those who lose their way,
Before I knew myself, I cried with a smile upon my face,
empathy, a double-edged sword, to feel the joy and pain of others,
my speech and gestures ignored, but in my element, I find strength,
to bridge the gap, to make them see, yet, often, I am met with negativity,
I see through the eyes of those who were blind, trying to find my place,
A mystery to those who saw me but could not see, as I walked by their side
Through the lens of autism, A plea for empathy and grace,
To look beyond the surface, where our souls and minds may blend,
We’ll find a love in that bond a place to belong.
