How to Date a Fish or How to Catch a Date.

By Salie Davis

Not all fish lures allures all fish,

Some prefer a fancy dish, so swish, swish,

With shiny spinners and feathers so grand,

While others like it low-key, in the quiet land.

The brook trout danced to flashy, glistening flies,

While catfish, in the dark, are worldly-wise,

The catfish in the mud, they’re sly and shrewd,

They don’t care for flashy, they’re not in the mood,

Not all fish lures allures all fish,

In Nature’s subtle, hidden wish,

Some glitter bright, and some are shy,

To some, the bait is a false reply.

Some gleaming lures, with feathers fine and bright,

Would tempt the trout, and the bass, with sheer delight,

The trout, they love the glitz, the bling and blare,

But not every lure can make them care.

In ponds of life, our hearts we cast,

To find the love that’s meant to last,

Yet not all lures can claim success,

In this world’s vast, uncertain mess.

Good fish, subtle, hidden in the shade,

Find favor with a different fishy trade.

Not every hook could charm each finned desire,

For tastes and depths of waters do conspire.

So, let us learn from fishy’ lore,

Not all hearts can the same lure bore,

For love, like fish in waters deep,

Requires a bond that’s true, not cheap.

And thus, in life’s vast river, we must see,

Not all baits can win the hearts, set free,

For human souls, like fish, have varied dreams,

And not one lure allures all as it seems.

So, in the world of fish and folks alike,

Remember, it’s not about the glitter and spike,

Different strokes for different folks, they say,

So choose your bait wisely, and have a great day!
