Your differences, they scare them so.
Their fear of you begins to grow.
Discrimination and fear towards people
who are different is unjust.
Why should they have the right,
To tear you down with all their might?
Everyone has the right to be treated
with respect and dignity.
You try your best, you give your all,
Yet they still make you feel so small.
Regardless of differing characteristics
We should strive to understand diversity.
Don’t you see, they’re not above you,
They’re just afraid that they might love you.
It is important to recognize our biases
and work to overcome them.
For love and hate both collide,
Within the heart of those who hide.
We should celebrate our differences
rather than fear them.
They act as if they are superior,
But deep inside, they feel inferior.
We need to strive to create a world
where everyone feels valued.
So hold your head up high and proud,
Be who you are, and say it loud.
Maybe in the end, they’ll see, that they are free
to be who they are, because we are free.
