It’s OK. to Say Goodbye

It’s never easy to say goodbye,

to watch love fade and wither and die.

But sometimes it’s for the best,

to let go and give the other rest.

You gave your all, you gave your heart,

but sometimes love just falls apart.

It hurts and it stings, it makes you cry,

but it’s okay to say goodbye.

Hold on to the memories, and cherish the past,

but don’t hold on to something that won’t last.

It’s time to let go, to say farewell,

and wish the other a future that’s swell.

Your heart will heal, the pain will fade,

and new love will come a new serenade.

So dry your tears, and let it be,

It’s time to set the other free.
