Leaf: A Hymn

When I was in my 20s I wrote a lot of songs because I was always writing in my head but working, I couldn’t write stories or poetry, so I sang the songs over and over again and memorized them. The music helped me remember the words. Then when I had time I wrote them down.

If you want to be loved by Jesus then love your fellow man.

If he is without hope give him Encouragement. Give him all that you can.

Be Aware of the Devil’s workmen, that they not lead you astray.

Have Faith in the Lord our Savior. To him in silence pray.

The tree of life is a sacred gift for which we walk a narrow road.

If we truly seek God’s Wisdom, we must bear the Christian load.

Love, Encouragement, Awareness, and Faith is a leaf upon the tree.

Without it our lives would be barren, then where would we be?

Without our Lord to guide us, born only of this world,

cast out into darkness and the wrath of God unfurled.
