The Wolves Amongst the Sheep by Salie Davis
I understand concerns about the complex issues at hand,
Where hatred and fear in our society seem to expand.
It falls upon American Jews with an unrelenting stare.
Antisemitism rears its head in the land of the free,
As American Jews, our neighbors, and family, face threats daily.
The FBI warns of threats from groups like Hamas and more,
Radicals within the nation, a situation all need to explore.
Threats against Americans! Antisemitism, a poison in the air,
Yet, in this troubled landscape, a task force they propose,
to protect Islam, our people, neighbors everyone knows.
It’s crucial to address the concerns that the Islamic people raise,
To navigate these challenges in these tumultuous days.
But the “protesters” are threatening peace and hope day by day.
It’s like having wolves and hybrids in a field of sheep,
With dogs, our loyal friends, their own promises to keep.
The wolves, the Hamas, are a danger, no doubt, in the fold,
But the hybrids, blame the sheep, a story too often told.
Terrorists, hidden amongst our people, they prowl and prey,
The dogs, our family, and friends stand in confusion,
Unsure of their allegiance, in this dark illusion.
Indeed, protecting the innocent is a goal we all share,
But we must also save the sheep from a fate unfair.
In lands afar but especially our own people, on our homeland.
It was never about the pasture, but about killing sheep; truth seek,
To ensure the safety of all, remain in unity and in truth speak.
Work together, understand history, hearts, and forces combined,
Address all threats and divisions, to secure our future don’t be blind.
Be aware that Hamas is here, the FBI warns of terror’s hand,
Only by standing together can we survive and make it through,
Wolves and hybrids seek “Death to Americans”, and they will ensue.
Yet politicians create a task force, sought to shield only one side,
While the wolves among us in sheep’s clothing, literally hide.
Protect the sheep, the headlines proclaim, but which are they,
The question lingers in the whispering international breeze,
Do we defend the flock, the real sheep-or ease the trouble overseas?
To protect the innocent, on all sides, is a noble aim,
Yet who defines innocent when the terrorist lays claim?
As wolves and hybrids in sheep’s cloth, blur the light of day.
A mirror, filled with smoke, held to choices we must face,
To find our way to truth, through this divisive space.
The wolves in our midst, only want to kill, they threaten us all,
We must unite as one, see them as they are, before in death we fall.
Protecting one belief doesn’t mean neglecting another’s plight,
It’s not about land, it is about terror. It is a dangerous political game.
In terror there is no common ground, we must extinguish terror’s flame.
While we strive to protect all, let’s not lose our way,
In fighting against terrorism, together in unity, we must stay.
For freedom to thrive, we must stand up for what’s right.
We must fight to protect the sheep and keep the wolves at bay,
We must seek truth, don’t be fooled by lies, God save us, we pray.
