The Trinity (original song written in my 20s)

The Trinity

V1

God sent Jesus as living water to quench our thirst and cleanse our souls.

Then God made snow from that water, pure and white, and sent the holey ghost.

chorus

From God came Jesus, then from he, came the holey ghost, I pray come to me.

V2

In the drought of summer, we bless the rain, as if Jesus were with us again. Then in the autumn, with the chilling frost, In the blood-red leaves, we remember our loss.

Chorus

V3

In the winter we face our darkest hour, we are alone, without God’s power. So God sends snow, pure and white, and we think on the Spirit and we look towards the light.

Chorus

V4

Then in the Spring, there is rebirth. As if our God has returned to earth. And with God comes Jesus, and with he, comes the Holy Spirit, blessed trinity.

Chorus

V5

Then there is joy as these three, say to this lowly soul come to me.

And there is joy as the Trinity says to my soul, come to me.
