To The Inner Child

by Salie Davis

I hear your cries, your silent tears,
I feel your pain, your doubts and fears,
Though it may seem so, you’re not alone,
I share your feelings, I share your home.
I know you try, with all your might,
To make it through, both day and night,
I see your struggles, I see your fight,
I know your journey, your path of light.
I’m here to listen, to lend a hand,
To help you rise, and take a stand,
To walk with you, through thick and thin,
To share your joy, and ease your pain.
You’re not foolish, to hope and dream,
To trust and love, to always believe,
In a world that’s sometimes cold and mean,
You’re strong and brave, your spirit serene.
So dry your tears, or let them fall,
Take a deep breath, stand proud and tall,
For I am here, and will always be,
To help you through, and set you free.
