The gods in Fairytales

By Salie Davis age 39

Confusion surrounds the children in stories they hear,
Choices abound, and cloud their path, I fear.
In fairy tales, truth and lies collide,
Where fantasy and reality reside,
“No,… Zeus and Olympus are tales of old,
but God’s word and presence in truth is told.”
Confusion may cloud their innocent minds,
With tales and choices, they’re bound to find.
Amidst their longing for worldly desires,
May God quench their thirst, and ignite a fire.
He empowers righteousness, not worldly lust,
His kingdom is here, in Him we trust.
As I teach my children to discern truth and to look,
to recognize the fantasy gods who are only in book.
May God fuel their discernment and spiritual desires,
May God fuel and quench their thirst for righteous fires.
Though judgment awaits, His kingdom is near,
In Jesus, our Savior, we have naught to fear.
He empowers our will to follow His way,
To walk in His light and not go astray.
