I love someone that is Neurotypical

I love someone neurotypical, it’s true,
They possess strengths that we may lack,
Sometimes they stumble, unaware,
Let’s explore perspectives, understand their view,
though their lives may seem off track.
caught in social norms that cause despair.

Neurotypicals may think illogically each day,
They lack strengths we hold dear,
Logic eludes them, oh, what a fuss,
unable to seek order or consistency they stray.
take care, their quirks we need not fear.
though patterns and order, are not their compass.

Clear rules may not hold great value for them,
But we can lead them, with care and grace,
Their focus on material things may be strong,
Yet we support them and do not condemn.
Though they may resist, anger on their face,
we guide them, teaching them right from wrong.

Though deep conversations with strangers they avoid,
and have obsessions with trivial subjects they adore,
Understanding typical behavior can be quite a task,
Personal info about bodily functions is left unvoiced.
Yet weather and sports-obsessed, it’s a bit of a bore.
Lacking directness lost in politeness, without a mask.

Comfort in their own age group they often find,
Though odd, it lies only within their own age,
and hyper-focus on specific tasks, they lack,
Acceptance of deficiencies we must keep in mind
It’s true socializing across generations, they disengage.
And awkwardly stare into eyes, a quirky track.

Constant movement, a skill they don’t possess,
Their senses may differ, dulled in certain ways,
Smells may not reach them from rooms afar,
In statue-like states, they may sometimes regress.
Hearing electricity, and seeing light waves don’t amaze.
The taste of textures and sounds of fabric is not on par.

Often underwhelmed, these senses they lack,
Regulating through stims gives them no ease,
Pain, anger, sadness, and joy, they often conceal.
Guttural screams, or howls, seldom crack.
But we’ll support them, their challenges appease.
though emotional empathy, they may not deeply feel,

I love someone who is neurotypical, you see,
Of the benefit of stims, they may be blind,
they can’t express through unique sounds and roars,
but through understanding, we foster unity.
Rocking, flapping, clicking, stims of any kind.
they lack the ability, like us, to explore.

Pacing or tapping is not their go-to,
Expressing themselves uniquely, they lack,
they may be deficient in the abilities we know,
By supporting them, we’ll help them through.
we appreciate their presence, no setback.
But giving up on them? Oh no, no, no!

Let’s celebrate neurotypicals, we know one, we adore,
though they lack the strengths that we neurodiverse share,
As the Neuro-spectrum paints our world with its hue,
their uniqueness and ours add to life’s sweet score.
They’re different but that’s okay, for life’s a fun affair.
By understanding, misconceptions we’ll break through.
