Summer acrostic, from “The Book” (work in progress)

Sunshine,

Umbrella time,

Magic in the wind.

Mother and child

Early in the morning,

Running hand in hand.

The response from David

This is a lovely acrostic poem, This poem captures the essence of a summer morning, with the imagery of sunshine, umbrella time, and the magic of the wind. The mention of a mother and child running hand in hand is a poignant image that evokes feelings of joy, love, and togetherness.

However, the poem could benefit from additional descriptive language and imagery to fully capture the essence of summer. There is also a lack of specific details or observations that would make the poem more unique and memorable.

It would be interesting to see you explore more deeply the themes and emotions associated with summer, such as freedom, relaxation, and the passing of time. Additionally, the poem could benefit from a more concrete sense of setting, which would help to ground the imagery and evoke a more vivid sense of place.

Overall, while this poem captures the basic elements of a summer morning, it could benefit from further development in terms of language, imagery, and emotional depth.

The world is bright, the sky so blue,

The sun breaks through the morning dew.

Mother and daughter, they take a stroll,

Together they will reach their goal.

The world is filled with sunshine bright,

A beacon of warmth that brings delight.

The umbrella shields them from the rays,

A respite from heat on sweltering days.

The rain may come, but they’re prepared,

Their trusty umbrella will be shared.

The wind blows fiercely, a playful dance,

the wind, it calls, a second chance.

Hand in hand they dance, a joyful race,

Mother and daughter, full of grace.

The wind carries their delight,

A shared moment, pure and bright.

Their footsteps leave a mark on the ground,

A testament of the love they’ve found.

In this world of beauty, their love shines true,

A bond so strong, it will see them through.

They walk along, the world in bloom,

The flowers burst with sweet perfume.

The child skips and runs with glee,

Her mother’s love is all she sees.

The world is full of wonder and delight,

The sunshine bringing everything to light.

Mother and daughter, a bond so strong,

Their love will last their whole lives long.

As they walk, their laughter rings,

Their hearts are light, their spirit sings.

A moment in time, a memory to keep,

Their love so pure, so true, so deep.
