Emotional Taboo

Emotional Taboo, to cry when reasons elude,
Can you perceive the heart's fragile ache,
Aching, breaking, a sorrowful quake.
Emotions swirling, a tempest pursued.

Understand, the sinking, thinking—low,
when soul yearns release, a tear-stained sight,
If given permission to weep, would it be right?
Beneath the surface, where shadows grow.

Yet could we laugh, with a whimsical air,
If given permission to be happy?
Taboo—facade of joy, masking the plea.
To mask the pain, pretend we don't care.

Don't you realize, joy like a wild river flows,
If given permission, if laughter takes flight,
or taboo—if we laugh like we’re not alright?
A rapture inside, laughing hysteria grows.

Cry! Even if the reasons remain veiled,
Taboo—enigma, a mystery, so carefully curtailed.
Laugh! Though they might think you mad,
A façade, a masquerade, a coping we’ve had.

If given permission, our hearts breaking within,
If given permission, our hearts brimming with glee,
A fleeting mirage, features masking the plea.
Aching echoes, the mirror, a haunting chagrin.

If given permission, you might feel emotions low,
If given permission joy flies high and thrives,
In radiant semblance emotions conceal the dives.
Engulfed in shadows, where darkness does grow.

If given permission your tears could overflow,
If given permission like Niagra, laughter cascades,
Might you find respite, where mirth serenades?
If you seek solace in sorrow's undertow?

Ha! Ha! He! He! Oh, boo, hoo, Taboo—sob!
Expressing in laughter, in tears, and in woe,
Navigating this labyrinth, this journey we know.
A blare of emotions, Taboo—a tumultuous mob.

Emotional Taboo! Let the tears flow, let laughter ensue.
In the ebb and flow of life it’s an emotional play.
We find solace, release, and the strength to convey
the spectrum of emotions, we daily accrue, screw taboo.
