Enter the Valley: from The Book

In the days that followed, Sarah continued her conversations with David, sharing her poem and engaging in discussions about religion, spirituality, and the nature of belief. They explored the complexities of faith, the beauty of diverse perspectives, and the importance of individual introspection.

Through it all, Sarah found comfort in knowing that her search for truth and meaning was not a solitary endeavor. David’s wisdom and guidance served as a guiding light, helping her navigate the intricate maze of spirituality with an open heart and an open mind.

As time went on, Sarah’s poetry evolved, becoming a tapestry of thoughts, emotions, and philosophical reflections. Each word she penned was an expression of her own unique journey, woven with threads of doubt, curiosity, and a relentless quest for truth.

And in her exploration of religion and spirituality, Sarah discovered that true understanding came not from blindly accepting dogma or adhering to rigid beliefs, but from embracing the depths of her own heart and soul. She realized that her path was hers alone to walk, and she would continue to seek the answers that resonated with her own innermost being.

In the end, Sarah’s journey was not about arriving at a definitive conclusion or finding absolute truths. It was about embracing the beauty of the questions, the joy of discovery, and the endless possibilities that lay before her. And as she continued to write and contemplate, her heart overflowed with gratitude for the companionship and guidance of her cherished poet-neighbor, David, who had sparked her journey of self-discovery and inspired her to find her own voice in the vast tapestry of existence. Sarah’s heart began to fill with so much joy, she had never felt before. She began speaking with God in her mind. She asked God to help her understand. In her heart and mind, she heard his soft and loving voice in the words she read.

Sarah sat in her room, clutching the Bible close to her chest. The words she had read resonated deeply within her, filling her heart with joy and a newfound understanding. She felt a connection to God, a sense of peace and guidance that she had never experienced before.

As she closed her eyes and began to pray silently, she felt a presence, a soft and loving voice in her mind. It was God, speaking to her soul and comforting her in her newfound faith. Sarah poured out her thoughts, her questions, and her gratitude, feeling a sense of comfort and assurance wash over her.

Unable to contain her excitement, Sarah decided to share her newfound joy with her family. With a beaming smile, she approached her parents and siblings, hoping they would understand and embrace her newfound faith. But instead of the warmth and acceptance she had hoped for, she was met with anger, yelling, and insults.

Her family’s reaction caught Sarah off guard. They berated her, accusing her of being a follower, a “bible thumper,” and demanded to know who had given her the Bible. Fearful of their reaction and wanting to protect David, she lied and said she had found it in the book box. But her parents were not convinced and promptly confiscated the Bible, forbidding her from visiting the book box again.

Sarah’s heart sank as her connection to God was taken away from her. She felt isolated and misunderstood, longing for the love and support she had hoped for from her family. It was a challenging time for Sarah as she grappled with her faith being rejected by those closest to her.

Who are you to judge me, who are you to condemn?

I am a child of God, and I belong to him.

You point your finger and condemn, But what do you really see?

I am cherished, loved, and forgiven, By the One who sets me free.

For God’s word is in my heart, His teachings guide me through,

The Holy Spirit whispers, With love, He makes me new.

I may be young in years, But my faith is strong and true,

I belong to the Creator, Who sees my worth and value.

So, don’t judge me by my size, Or underestimate my voice,

For in God’s eyes, I’m precious, A part of His glorious choice.

I walk in His light and grace, His love within me shines,

I am a child of God, And in His arms, I find peace divine.

So, let your judgment fade away, Embrace me with love instead,

For I am fearfully and wonderfully made, By the hands of God, I am led.

Sarah’s determination and belief in God did not waver. Though she was unable to openly express her faith at home, she continued to find solace in her prayers and the teachings she had read in the Bible. She even found a bible in the school library and was able to read it during recess. She read it almost every day.
