In my library, in my banned books, I learn of the past,
I discover myself, unashamed, a connection unsurpassed.
In poems and stories, rejected, I find memories amassed,
I discover a reflection, the human condition, a bond that will last.
In the act of reading, that which was not to be read, I find pieces of me,
And the strength to embrace life, to overcome challenges, limitless and free.
The power of words, especially the banned, is a vessel to inspire,
To ignite our minds, preserve the flame and set our souls afire.
Within these pages that others forbade, a confluence thrives,
And through the literary word, my spirit survives.
In reading books, I uncovered my own truth,
A connection, a legacy, resilient, uncouth.
