I spend my days obsessing,
thinking of all the things I want to say.
They are lost behind a voice,
silenced by the expectation of deaf ears.
My nights are spent dreaming
of all the things I want to hear.
These expectations are only fulfilled
in a memory made together.
Such a short moment,
a flash of light, as if taking a picture.
That one brief moment captured sanity.
It is held in memory, I am held in its possession.
It reminds me of hope, when time was valued,
and what was spoken was truly listened to.
I spend my days, my nights in this fancy,
this picture of sanity.
A picture of sanity: age 30
