Give me A day: age 30

I Am alone with my thoughts.
Finally, a moment.
Alone to remember my dreams.
I dreamed of you.
Someone to talk to.
You were there for a moment.
Standing at the counter in the bathroom
as I was getting ready for my day.
I was so excited.
All these things I wanted to say.
Clumsy me.
All of my thoughts and preparations
with a sweep of my hand fell upon the floor.
I knelt to pick up-comb and brush
and all the other essentials
needed for the morning rush.
When I looked up you were gone.
Clumsy me.
I lost the moment.
All these thoughts left unsaid.
I should understand it is a busy world.
There is no time to wait for the unprepared.
I woke up pretending you were still here.
Here I am now alone for a moment,
preparing all my thoughts,
all these things I want to say.
Clumsy me.
I need more than a moment.
Give me a day.
