My words are like a river’s flow, Through pages they gently go.
Will you take the time to read them?
Could another’s words convey, The feelings that I wish to say?
Do you feel the way I do?
My eyes reveal a hidden pain, A fear that holds me in its chain.
Do you dare peer into them?
You look away, but in your heart, You know that we are not apart.
I am human, you are human too.
My words speak of the unspoken, Of the things that are still broken.
Do my words cause you pain?
A glass of wine, a candle’s light, Quickens your blood with all its might.
Metaphors, fancy words, are they easier to bear?
But caution should be taken too, For too much sharing may undo.
Wouldn’t it be better if we could be honest?
In the end, it’s clear to see, That truth can cause great agony.
Don’t lies cause even more?
I hold on to memories so dear, In hopes that understanding will appear.
I share with you these memories.
In the end, If it’s just a dream, A reflection of the mind in a flowing stream.
Might we bathe in the water together?
In these memories lie a key, to unlock the soul’s mystery.
I share with you, will you share as well?
Perceptions of truth we may never know, yet understanding may continue to grow.
When watered by our tears.
