If All People Were Green

In a world of colors diverse,
Would unity finally immerse
if all people were Green?
Now divisive words, like daggers, pierce,
White, Black, Red, Yellow, the curse.
Would you care if I were Emerald?

Differences are gifts we bear,
if all people were Green,
A mosaic of shades, rich and rare,
would language change, would you care,
If my skin was the shade of Lime?
Through time you divide and create despair.

If all people were Green
would it be fine then, to disagree?
Would we respect each unique decree?
Yet some have olive-coloured skin,
and still, there is a rift, a widening sea,
why do we forget what could be?

Some find strength in varied hues,
If all people were Green
or even Chartreuse, they
would embrace differences, no ruse.
While others exploit power and abuse,
Fueling discord, letting conflict fuse.

If only God, one day made all people green,
I could see myself as Jade.
yet the troubles wouldn’t fade, unseen,
if all people were Green.
They’d manifest in a different sheen,
A new excuse for strife, it seems.

It would not matter if people were Celadon
for in the heart of humankind,
Lies the choice of ties that bind,
Some find strength with love intertwined,
if all people were Green
Others still see differences, being blind.

Let us seek a common ground,
Where unity and love are found,
Respecting variation all around,
For in harmony, strength is crowned.
If all people were Green,
I would keep it real, and be teal.
