I Wear—Don’t Wear a Mask
Well, let me tell you, folks, it’s quite a sight,
In this world of masks, an endless fight,
I wear one and my lungs, they scream,
But it’s not as simple as it may seem.
In a world of doubt and uncertainty
by politics, we sway,
I wear a mask—don’t wear a mask,
each challenging day,
Proof may come, but my trust remains unsure,
amidst the media’s agendas, we must endure.
I won’t risk my family’s precious breath,
wearing—not wearing a mask brings me death,
Upstairs, I gasp for the air I lack,
Yet, I wear—don’t wear the mask to protect the pack.
My parents, kept far from me, in the shadows lie,
A mask can’t shield when microscopic particles fly,
But don’t assume I tread with heartless wrath,
For love and care guide my cautious path.
In times of doubt, I wear—don’t wear a mask,
A humble shield, an arduous task,
Amidst the media’s cacophonous song,
We tread through days both right and wrong.
Proof may emerge, but trust is frail,
In this world where stories often derail,
I protect my kin, a love so vast,
In the uncertain present and shadowed past.
In this perplexing time, I wear —don’t wear a mask,
A shield against a foe, a politically intimidating task,
Amidst the media’s political propaganda-
broadcast waves,
We seek the truth, as each heart in its truth behaves.
Until the day of truth, with an open mind, I’ll cope,
Wearing—not wearing my mask, holding onto hope,
I won’t assume, for empathy shall reign,
In this complex world, we’ll find common gain.
In the end, the truth we all will share,
In this world of suffering, we all will bear,
With open minds, masks we wear—don’t wear,
Until the final truth is finally made clear.
