A Golden Dream
A golden dream I chose to leave untried—
Yet I softly smile and hear the theme.
For fear of flames, I stayed upon the shore,
I didn’t want to burn the bridge of fate.
Yet still, I dream of crossing, wide and free,
While time slips by, a life with risk,
In warmth and bliss, my heart will ever soar,
I feast on warmth, not caring what I’ve lost.
I walked the shore where seashells gleam,
With gentle care, I sought,
Not crossing over—just a dream,
Though time it must be learned, my heart feels light.
Oh dear, I fear, I held too near,
Yet all these joys, they rise, just like my glee;
Like laughter dancing, soft with golden hue,
I celebrate this comfort evermore.
