The Vampire’s Farewell

The Vampire’s Farewell
The vampire stirs from ancient sleep.
in moonlight, the vampire creeps,
with farewell thoughts throughout the night,
the vampire hunters—bold only in flight.

They hail the dusk, their vales, and hills,
where dark ages weave their spectral thrills.
Along the lanes where nightmares fail
to leave a trace of twilight’s veil.

The hills and vales both now lost
secrets held, but at what great cost.
A fleeting glimpse of time’s dark tales
in ancient lore, a shadow wails.

As a child’s little sailing boat drifts by,
beneath the pale and distant sky,
The vampire’s farewell, from fiend to friend.
