In prideful song, the builder’s voice rang clear,
“I’ll build my house where skies are wide,
where mountain and sky collide.
I’ll build my house where eagles dare to fly,”
and though the eagles soared higher,
In his heart, he declared—
“Let no expense be spared!”
With walls of stone, he yearned for more,
and as the eagle gazed from heights above,
He observed his dreams take shape and grow.
The stones were laid with steadfast hand,
yet in the solitude of towering spires,
He felt alone and unfulfilled
For in the grandeur of his lofty space,
Where the mountain meets the sky’s embrace,
He found himself in life unskilled.
The winds that whispered through the stone,
spoke of a truth he had never known,
And though his house was strong and grand,
He yearned for the truth of something more—
his prideful dreams, now laid bare,
He found them empty with no love to share.
He was alone.
