The Fall of Man

By God’s design, a vision bright, refined,
He breathed His spirit deep in humankind.
Aglow in heaven’s blaze, they found their place,
To walk with God, sustained by boundless grace.

Their purpose clear: to guard, to serve, to sing,
In realms austere beneath the Maker’s wing.
Celestial grace upon each freewill face,
Reflected glory in this sacred place.

But man, defiant, turned from heaven’s call,
deception veiled the darkness of the fall.
Once destined to shine, they carved their own way,
Exchanging Eden’s light for shades of gray.

Ethereal beings, pure, divine, and whole,
Now bore the weight of sin upon their soul.
A luminous spirit, formed to stand secure,
Yet twisted, grim, impure, could not endure.

Man’s gaze grew dark, despising heaven’s plan,
Rejecting God, they spurned the Son of Man.
From glory’s height to depths of loss they fell,
Now bound by curse, their hearts a rebel’s hell.

Committed still, though fueled by wrath and pride,
They turned from light and wandered far and wide.
Intelligent and cunning in their guise,
They roamed the cosmos under umbrage skies.

Their scornful eyes surveyed creation’s worth,
Despising all the beauty birthed on earth.
Crafted in God’s image, man became
A mirror of their envy, fanning flame.

Now barred from grace, removed from heaven’s gate,
They tasted doom, yet raged against their fate.
A path of pride points to endless despair.
Rebellion leads to separation, without God near.

But mercy dawned, redemption’s light revealed,
Through Christ, the Savior, heaven’s love unsealed.
Upon the cross, He bore sin’s crushing weight,
Conquering death to open heaven’s gate.

Through Him, the fallen rise, their souls made whole,
Grace freely offered to redeem the soul.
