Striving for Holiness

How deep, how true is our heart’s desire,
To walk in the path of refining fire?
Positionally sealed, in Christ, I stand,
Righteous before God by His guiding hand.
Through Jesus, my Advocate, sins are erased,
My atonement secured, by His mercy embraced.
Judgment day holds no fear, no dread,
For the Spirit indwells where faith has led.
But what of today, in the practical sense?
Am I striving for holiness, living immense?
Do my choices reflect the Savior I claim,
Or do fleeting treasures diminish His name?
Step by step on this earthly trail,
Do I cling to God’s Word, or let comforts prevail?
Am I led by His Spirit, yielding each thought,
Or entangled by desires that holiness fought?
“Pray without ceasing”, the call resounds,
Captive each thought, where His grace abounds.
To seek His kingdom, above all, I strive,
Though efforts may falter, His love keeps me alive.
Holiness calls for an earnest, willing heart,
To live set apart, in God’s work take part.
Not perfect, but willing, His will to pursue,
For grace is abundant, and His mercies renew.
So, how invested are we, you and I,
In a life that exalts the Lord Most High?
Let us strive, step by step, in faith to ascend,
Till we meet our Savior, at journey’s end.
