My Eyes are on the Lord

My Eyes are on the Lord

Dismayed, heart contrite, Oh Lord, I see,
How doubt and fear could conquer me.
But my eyes are fixed upon Your throne,
You pluck my feet from nets I’ve known.
When Satan schemes to sow dismay,
Your hand will guide me through the fray.
With faith as shield, and prayer as sword,
I walk away, eyes fixed on you Lord.
For doubt may whisper, fear may roar,
But I will trust You evermore.
Discouragement may cast its net,
But Your salvation never sets.
With eyes toward heaven, strong and sure,
I step forth, my faith secure.
Satan will recoil, when the spirit is stirred,
For I have heard a higher, holier word.
My eyes are ever toward you Lord.
