Hymn of Resilience

Hymn of Resilience

Life doesn’t frighten me, I hear the call,
On the traveler’s troubled road, I stand,
I rise, I walk, unyielding through it all.
a song for the ones who walk hand in hand.
In all ways a woman, phenomenal, bold,
Kin to the human family, I know my song,
As I know the social welfare rolls are sold.
same as I know the caged bird sings along,
with a refusal to give in, to let dreams fade,
an insomniac night hums it’s staying awake song,
The caged bird awaits the truths we’ve made,
prayers for recovery yet our struggles prolong.
These yet to be United States in harmony.
The mothering colourless shields and guides,
The family pledge, a bond we renew,
while Savior and Son to Mother confides.
