The Word Made Flesh
Oh, Word eternal, breathed divine,
The Law, a lamp to light our path,
Your truth resounds through ancient line.
Reveals our sin, ignites God’s wrath.
Yet in the scroll, the shadows show
A Savior sent to heal our woe.
The scriptures speak in voices clear,
Though wisdom shines from sacred page,
A holy call for all to hear.
Its Author steps upon the stage.
The Word became in flesh revealed,
The covenant of grace unsealed.
Not laws alone can cleanse our stain,
For hearts are stone, and eyes are blind,
Nor moral truths dissolve our pain.
Without redemption’s love refined.
The Spirit’s breath, the soul’s rebirth,
Transforms our walk upon this earth.
O Christ, who bore the sinner’s load,
Your blood, the balm for broken men,
Through cross and grave, You paved the road.
Restore us, make us whole again.
Alive in You, we’re Spirit-filled,
The Word fulfilled, the Law instilled.
Let us not gaze with dimmed delight,
On scripture’s truths, grace is shown—
In its pages, we find God’s light.
The Teacher saves through love alone.
Jesus, our Savior, King, and Friend,
Through You, our darkness finds its end.
So let us walk, redeemed, renewed,
With hearts to You, our faith pursued.
The Word, alive within, shall guide,
Until we stand at heaven’s side.
