On Our Knees
If Christ is Lord, then we obey,
And lift our leaders when we pray.
Not just for those we call our own,
But every heart on every throne.
For wisdom’s voice and counsel strong,
For justice where there once was wrong,
For light to break through darkened halls,
We pray—our God still hears and calls.
But let our lips not burn with spite,
Nor trade pure truth for hollow fight.
No fleeting praise will shift the tide,
If prayer and love are set aside.
The wrath of man will not restore
The righteousness we’re longing for.
So let us stand with courage bold,
Yet speak with grace as truth is told.
On bended knee, in faith we rise,
With Spirit-fire and fearless cries.
The Church must pray, must love, must stand—
For justice moves at God’s command.
