When Death Takes Me I Want To— (Un-rhymed version of Eternal Becoming)
When death takes me—
I want to experience the world as a raindrop.
I want to fall upon the petal of a soft wild rose.
I want to swim in the sea as a dolphin.
I want to soar into the night sky as a raven.
I want to move through space as a beam of light.
I want to reflect on the rings of Saturn.
I want to spend eternity exploring everything there is to be.
Ever in light, never in darkness.
I want to be the scent of a flower,
the taste of honey to the bee.
I want to be the sound of a harp string
And the feeling of soft fur on a rabbit’s ear.
I want to be the beat of a heart,
the glint in the eye when it’s in love
then return again as the first sound a newborn baby makes.
I want to experience it all and when I am done—
through eternity, be it all again!
