Song of Sorts

Song of Sorts
A celebration of morning, a dawn-lit embrace,
Where flowers by the sea dance with delicate grace.
The gulls call out their first praise to the sky,
As wind flags flutter where the salt winds sigh.
An arrival of memory, a goodnight to the past,
A melody lingers—a love song to last.
No apology, no complaint, no regret,
Only the hush where the earth and stars met.
By the shore stands a tombstone—here lies the past,
An epitaph etched where the waves whisper fast.
Yet love does not falter, nor falter do we,
As between walls, we still dream of the free.
So sing, though the world may be turning backward,
Sing, though the weight of the days may press hard.
Sing for the lost and the lovers who roam,
For those who find light-hearted lines leading home.
Sing for the world, as its ever turning anew,
Sing for the stars, for the wild, for the true.
For love, for light, for the earth and the sky,
For dedication, for promise, for wings that still fly.
For the sailor, the fisher, the tinkerer on life’s stage.
Sing for the artist, the poet, the poor and the page.
