Herstory: Nellie Bly
In a world that whispered, Stay in place,
She rose to challenge, she dared to chase
The truth unspoken, the voices lost,
And paid the price—no matter the cost.
A girl with fire, fierce and bright,
She read their words and knew the fight
Was hers to claim, her pen to wield,
To carve her name upon the field.
She donned a mask, played mad and wild,
Trapped in halls where reason’s child
Was tossed aside, unseen, unheard—
She broke the silence with her word.
Then, wind in sails, she raced the tide,
Across the earth, alone with pride.
Seventy-two days, the world held tight,
She proved them wrong—oh, what a sight!
With ink and grit, she stood, she ran,
A voice for those they’d long outran.
And though she rests, her spirit flies—
A name still bold, a Nellie Bly.
