The Lesson of Love and Faith
I sit in stillness, heart laid bare,
Listening for God’s voice in prayer.
The Scriptures speak, their truths unfold,
A love that’s vast, a faith that’s bold.
Each verse a whisper, gently strong,
Teaching me where my heart’s gone wrong.
For love is not an easy creed,
It asks for more than words or deed.
True love requires a willing loss,
A path that leads me to the cross.
To die to self, to let pride fall,
To answer Christ’s demanding call.
But oh, the weight of sacrifice,
To lay down dreams, to pay the price.
My heart resists, my hands still cling,
To fleeting joys and selfish things.
Yet faith reminds me of His grace,
The mercy found in Jesus’ face.
His love endured, His life He gave,
To raise my soul from sin’s dark grave.
So here I am, not yet complete,
Struggling at His wounded feet.
I long to give what He deserves,
A love unshaken, faith that serves.
Though failing often, still I rise,
With humble prayers and tear-filled eyes.
For God’s not done; He’s shaping me,
Through love’s refining mystery.
Praise be to Him, who helps me see,
That love and faith are His decree.
I’ll trust His work, though slow the pace,
And die to self by His own grace.
Each sacrifice, a step toward Him,
A flame ignited, though light grows dim.
For love perfected, faith made pure,
In Christ alone will I endure.
