Portmanteau on Cinemax

Portmanteau on Cinemax
We rented a quaint old motor-home,
parked it by a motel on a smoggy shore
At brunch, beneath the smokey—foggy dome,
A spork in hand, we hungered for more.

A docudrama we filmed to tell our tale.
and a telethon to fund our delight,
With glamping dreams, we hit the trail,
A frenemy called — “You’re quite a sight!”

My workaholic checked his phone,
to get a guesstimate of donations ahead,
While I, a skort-clad jogger filmed alone.
hangry thoughts consumed my head.

We then chillaxed on a well-worn log,
but we blogged our infomercial without sound,
So we re-blogged with sound beneath the smog.
A mockumentary about netiqueete found.

Adventures with Brangelina! Brad and me.
With our branding name, we signed each post —
Portmanteaus our laughter, free —
A hybrid truth we loved the most.

About the Author: Sarah B. Royal

Sarah B. Royal’s writing defies convention. Her poetry and prose traverse the boundaries between structure and spontaneity, often weaving together philosophical inquiry, cultural reflection, and personal narrative. With a background in experimental literature, she is known for crafting works that challenge readers to engage intellectually and emotionally.
