Heaven Weeps, I Weep

Heaven Weeps, I Weep

Our enemy declared war
against the American people,
but we never got the memo.
It started over a decade ago.
It started slow, subtle.
Then the all out attack came
and caught us off guard.
Fear! Fear! Fear! The media declared.
Hate! Hate! Hate! The headlines blared.
We could not breath through the smokescreen
of discontent, paid actors, political propaganda,
Lies! Lies! Lies! They cried,
until truth was denied.
Now no one can believe anything anymore.
Grandmother has turned against granddaughter,
Daughter has turned against mother.
And heaven weeps.
It may be too soon to forgive, to heal…
The war is still raging, foreign actors,
media bias, political agendas…
But we must heal. In time, remember…
When your ready to forgive…
None of us have come out of this unharmed.
I weep because I know, its not over yet.
