Hiraeth Video From Collecting Stardust by Sarah B. Royal
Hiraeth
I saw a maiden in the mist so fair.
Where whispers danced upon the evening breeze.
Her presence stirred a longing in the aira
longing born of dreams and memories.
There lies a yearning, ancient and true,
her name, carried on the breeze like song,
Hiraeth, her name, a haunting melody.
In her gaze, a tale of love gone wrong,
a distant echo calling out to me.
Hiraeth, the echo of a distant call,
her beauty took from me my breath.
A melody of longing in the soul,
she beckoned, but I knew her touch was death.
Like the echoes of lost love, it takes its toll,
for home with her is elusive, beyond the wall,
though I wanted her, with me to forever stay,
but she, a phantom, vanished into the air.
Her essence lingered, though she slipped away,
yet in my longing, she’s forever there.
In hearts that wander, seeking solace sweet,
her memory etched upon my soul so deep,
a homesickness that binds the spirit tight.
Through valleys of mourning, I can only weep.
I yearn for her essence in the misty moonlight.
In her absence, memories are fleet.
Memories—perhaps a phantom of my tortured mind,
yet in my longing, she becomes alive.
As I desire for a love I will never find.
in dreams, love and laughter endlessly revive.
Oh, Hiraeth, bittersweet and pure,
yet ever in memory, I will hold you.
Guide me back to where my spirit can roam,
though I never once held you.
Beyond earthly laws, we might find a home,
through trials dark and joys unsure,
I will ever whisper your name to the wind.
Lead me home, to where I truly belong.
Hiraeth I will seek you till my end.
Hiraeth, my longing… my love song.
