Prepare Your Soul for When You’re Old
The body’s strength may slip away,
Prepare your soul for when you’re old,
Not with dread, but heart made bold.
for joy can still light up the day.
I’m not complaining—aging’s grace,
If now your heart is full of song,
This isn’t warning draped in fear,
It’s friendly truth for those who hear:
Prepare now to sing life long.
When silvered lines are on the face.
I’ve seen the ones who wear their years
They groan of what they cannot do—
And miss the joys still shining through.
With bitterness and bottled tears.
Yes, there’s pain and slower pace,
But I have also met the kind
Whose praise grows louder with their age,
As grace becomes their center stage.
their eyes with holy joy still shine.
for wisdom time cannot erase.
So, friend, prepare—be joyful now,
When shadows lengthen, lift your eyes—
There’s purpose still beneath the skies.
And let the years not steal your vow.
To glorify His holy face.
You’re not forgotten, not dismissed—
God still delights to use your gifts.
Each breath is mercy, each day grace—
