All in a day: age 20

It is time to awake dear one,

open your golden green eyes.

Kiss your love to gently wake her

to watch the morning sunrise.

Tell her that you love her.

Then take a moment to pray.

Be thankful for all you have

and for this new-sprung day.

Time passes quickly dear one.

Adding wisdom to the gold in your eyes.

kiss your love and plans make with her.

As the clouds move across the skies

tell her that you love her

then take a moment to pray.

be thankful for all you have

and for this existing day

It’s time to sleep dear one

close your golden green eyes.

kiss your love and gently hold her

to watch the evening moon rise.

tell her that you love her

then take a moment to pray.

Be thankful for all you have

and for this gone-by day

Time passes quickly dear one

the age shows in your eyes.

kiss your love and grow old with her.

as the stars move across the skies.

Tell her that you love her

then take a moment to pray

and be thankful for all you have

each and every day.

About the Author: Sarah B. Royal

Sarah B. Royal’s writing defies convention. Her poetry and prose traverse the boundaries between structure and spontaneity, often weaving together philosophical inquiry, cultural reflection, and personal narrative. With a background in experimental literature, she is known for crafting works that challenge readers to engage intellectually and emotionally.
