If You Only Knew

If You Only Knew

You chase the wind through gilded halls,
And seek in mirrors what won’t last—
Yet Love has stood beside your fall,
Unbound by time, unshaped by past.

You speak to God with clenched demands,
A fist, not hands outstretched in prayer—
You ask for thrones, for brighter lands,
But will not meet His mercy there.

Your pride—a crown of thorns you wear,
Commanding Him to serve your throne.
Yet grace awaits beyond despair,
A gift for humbled hearts alone.

He does not bend to hollow rites,
Nor prosper pride that will not yield.
Repentance is the flame that lights
The path where broken souls are healed.

If you but knew how deep His love,
You’d drop the sword, the mask, the guise—
And kneel not as
someone above,
But child beneath forgiving skies.

Turn from the sin that veils your sight,
Receive the Son, the truth, the way—
And walk into redeeming light,
Where Love has longed for you to stay.
