Light Beyond Hate

Light Beyond Hate

Love lives, lasting; hate cannot kill it.
But bodies break, and beloved are buried.
My prayers press forward for family in pain,
For friends who feel the hollow of loss.

Politics promise, but cannot preserve us;
Power of man fails, falters, and fades.
Only One offers what nations neglect:
Jesus—just Judge, Savior of souls.

Schools shut Him out, sin stalks in;
Godless guides give death in disguise.
Violence and vanity, wealth without wonder,
Worldly ways wound the hearts of many.

Yet Light lifts from the pit of darkness,
Christ calls captives into His care.
Governments grow as their citizens’ goodness;
God alone governs, Judge over all.
